Mark Rogers

Mark Rogers is a Williamsburg, Virginia singer-songwriter whose melodic folk rock combines thoughtful storytelling, memorable hooks, rich vocal harmonies, and the musical influences of a lifetime. His roots stretch from playing guitar, bass, and singing harmony in a bluegrass band as a teenager to leading a Cosmic American band in Los Angeles in the early 1980s. After stepping away from music for many years to raise a family, Rogers eventually returned to songwriting with a considerably larger collection of life experiences to draw from.

Since returning to recording, Rogers has built an impressive catalog that includes Laying It Down (2019), Rhythm of the Roads (2021), and 30 Minutes from Water Street (2024). His songs move comfortably between folk rock, Americana, indie pop, and the melodic influence of classic California and British rock without becoming a nostalgia act. Both of his first two full-length albums reached the top 20 of the EuroAmericana chart, while songs from 30 Minutes from Water Street earned international independent-radio attention and the album was selected as WHRO’s Out of the Box Album of the Week.

At the heart of Rogers’ music is the song itself: stories about relationships, roads traveled, mistakes made, time passing, and the unexpected turns a life can take. His melodies may feel immediately familiar, but his perspective comes from somewhere much more personal—a songwriter who found his way back to music and discovered he had even more to say.
