About the Artist
Berries
Berries is a Virginia Beach band with a psychedelic sound that has never been particularly interested in staying inside one genre. Led by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Chris Ledbury, the project grew from his early home-recording experiments into a full band whose music moves freely through psychedelic rock, indie pop, folk, surf, electronic textures and whatever else happens to serve the song.
That restless approach has shaped a catalog stretching from the watery soundscapes of their 2014 debut Sea Dance through 2020’s Soliloquy Road and the Outgrowth EP, culminating in the ambitious 2023 double album To Autumn (Sun/Moon). Across its two halves, To Autumn explores both the warm, colorful side of the season and its darker, stranger nighttime counterpart. Berries have continued releasing new music since then, including “Get That High,” “Blue My Mind” and 2026’s “Good Grief.”
At the center of Berries is a willingness to keep changing. One song might drift through dreamy psych-folk, another through jangling indie pop, surf-rock energy or something considerably stranger. That unpredictability is part of the appeal: rather than settling into a formula, Berries continue treating each new recording as another opportunity to find out where the music might go next.
